YES The Matrix is just as relevant today! I'd say epic in a true sense and that's rare in modern times.

This is a great essay. It makes me wonder, if we prefer cognitive ease, why elect chaos agents. Every day I wake up to more uncertainty. Is this when someone plugs in , not to truth, but the comforting lies we tell ourselves to get through the day?

That’s such a sharp observation. Maybe that tension between wanting ease and electing chaos agents is exactly the point—we outsource the discomfort to them so we can keep our own illusions intact.
